A modified Baby Grand Piano. Each of the 88 keys are assigned to a different coloured, hand painted incandescent light globe. The sound-to-colour scale used in this work was derived from the scale used in Alexander Scriabin’s Prometheus: The Poem of Fire Op. 60 (1910).
The instrument is used to create chromatic ‘portraits’ of songs, using long-exposure, analogue photography.
